Your study at ELA

In the Bachelor of Science Business Information Systems degree programme, you learn to analyse complex organisational problems in business and administrative practice and to solve them with the help of information technology. In detail, this means that you can design and implement extensive business information systems, advise and support companies in information technology issues and solve problems successfully and performance-oriented as a project employee.

Your central tasks include the planning, development and operation of information and communication systems. These systems have become indispensable in today's companies and form the basis for the efficient and profitable work of practically all employees. Thus, you play a key role in the economic success of many companies.

 

  • You study at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences at the Lingen campus.
  • The standard period of study is three years (six semesters).
  • Your lectures will be held in blocks
  • During your practical phases in the company, you will get to know areas such as the IT department or commercial departments such as sales or purchasing.
  • Your Bachelor's thesis will deal with a topic within the company and examine it on a scientific basis.
  • You have the opportunity to take an apprenticeship at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) integrated into your studies and have the free choice with us: integration of the apprenticeship as an industrial clerk (m/f/x) or the apprenticeship as an IT specialist with the specialisations system integration, application development or data and process analysis (m/f/x).

 

What you should bring with you

  • General or subject-linked higher education entrance qualification
  • Good performance in mathematics, German and English
  • Very good PC skills and interest in new information technologies
  • Interest in and understanding of (IT) technical and business processes and interrelationships
  • Good ability to think abstractly and analytically
  • Ability to communicate and work in a team
  • Very good knowledge of German and good written and spoken English

Information on the application procedure

  • If you apply for an apprenticeship with us, you will receive feedback from us by e-mail in the month of your application, at the latest within four weeks. This will inform you whether we will invite you to an initial personal meeting.
  • These meetings usually take the form of group discussions at our head office in Haren (Ems). There you will also receive more detailed information about training at ELA.
